This is a picture of the moment when Dr Elena Antonova received a standing ovation in the Wolfson Lecture Theatre of the Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College London at the culmination of her inspirational Neuroscience: Mindfulness and Applications event.

Dr Antonova's inaugural conference presented cutting-edge UK research into the Neuroscience of Mindfulness and its clinical applications to physical and mental conditions. This highly informative two-day event attracted multi-disciplinary participants and featured absorbing contributions by Entertainer Ruby Wax, BBC Arts Correspondent David Sillito and many eminent medical researchers (listed below) including Dr Antonova herself.

Dr Antonova presented her latest British Academy and Templeton Foundation funded research into neural responses to mindfulness using Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Psychophysiology. She is a speaker at the forthcoming Mind and Life European Symposium in Berlin in October, she is co-organising the Mind and Life Summer Research Institute in August 2014 and she is a programme leader for the new MSc in Mindfulness and Neuroscience at Kings College London.
