Here and There
We would certainly be mistaken in concluding that here does not exist at all; and we would be wise to acknowledge that my here and your here exist only in dependence on relational factors and conditions. Similarly, our sense of self persists only in relationship to each other. While there is no doubt that I exist and you exist; it is beyond question that in many important respects I only exist because you exist. Because neither of us can make a legitimate claim to be the centre of our universe, it makes perfect sense to respect all other living beings as much as ourselves.
